Santa Margherita is at the 55th edition of Vinitaly. Come and visit us, and discover our certified organic Prosecco Superiore.
Ever since its foundation, Santa Margherita has given a great deal of importance to sustainability, making a love for its winemaking zones, and for the people who live and work in them, one of its major strengths.
Since the end of the 2018 harvest, Santa Margherita has launched a program of sustainable reconversion of its land and vineyards at Refrontolo, in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG.
Its best practices, carefully researched and refined during the course of recent years, have led to the organic certification – with the application of the trademark on the back label – of Santa Margherita’s two iconic Vintage Prosecco Superiores: Brut «52» and Extra Brut «Rive di Refrontolo», from the 2022 vintage.
The Prosecco Superiore “Millesimati” are wines made from grapes grown exclusively on the estate at Refrontolo (Conegliano-Valdobbiadene) which, thanks to its characteristic exposures and geomorphological configurations, allows for the creation of these two “cru”.
These are special, limited-production wines that come from 18 hectares of vines immersed in woodland. They are wines that express an elegant and at the same time sober link with the terroir from which they originate.
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG “52” Brut: the wine that pays tribute to the first Prosecco produced by Santa Margherita in 1952 in the hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. A wine that expresses the history and future of the territory of origin, where the grape harvest proceeds each year with meticulous practices, fundamental to ensuring that the grapes keep their body, aroma and freshness intact.
A precious wine, which captivates with its perlage of extreme finesse that conveys the aromatic intensity of yellow pulp fruit.
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG “Rive di Refrontolo” Extra Brut: a wine produced from grapes from the Bagolaro selection vineyard in Refrontolo.
The vineyard - perfectly integrated into the landscape clinging to the banks of the land - forms a natural amphitheatre natural amphitheatre, a stage, in which the vines gather the sunlight to transform it into the characteristic aromatic notes of Rive di Refrontolo: fruity, intense and evocative.
